Enjoy an 8-day premium senior-friendly Kenya safari from Nairobi covering Bogoria, Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Naivasha and Amboseli.
This 8-day premium senior-friendly Kenya safari from Nairobi offers a thoughtfully paced journey through Lake Bogoria, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli. Private transport allows reasonable comfort stops and flexible wildlife observation, while premium accommodation is selected according to room comfort, meal quality and practical access. The itinerary includes several long road transfers and is not automatically wheelchair accessible, so guests should share mobility, medical and dietary requirements before booking. Our guide can provide assistance with ordinary safari logistics but cannot deliver personal care or medical services. Wildlife sightings, flamingo numbers and clear Kilimanjaro views remain dependent on natural conditions.
Assisted Nairobi Departure
Pickup is arranged between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. from JKIA or a confirmed Nairobi hotel. Our guide will assist with luggage and allow time for comfortable boarding. Travel 270–300 km through the highlands, Nakuru and Marigat, taking 5–6½ hours excluding lunch, traffic and planned comfort stops. Prescribed medication, water and essential personal items should remain accessible throughout the journey.
Gentle Bogoria Visit
After lunch and room allocation, visit accessible sections of Lake Bogoria around 3:30 p.m. The outing introduces geothermal scenery, escarpment landscapes and seasonal birdlife without requiring a strenuous walk. Flamingo concentrations vary with lake conditions. Guests should not approach hot springs or uneven geothermal ground. Anyone using a walking aid should discuss suitable surfaces with the guide. Return before darkness for dinner and an early rest at your premium accommodation.
Easy Morning Option
Breakfast begins around 6:00 a.m. Guests may join a gentle morning lake excursion or remain at the accommodation for additional rest. The guide will explain the expected ground conditions before departure. Wildlife and bird observations take place from accessible viewpoints or the safari vehicle wherever practical. Return and complete check-out around 9:00 a.m.
Afternoon Nakuru Safari
Travel 110–130 km through Marigat, requiring 2½–3½ hours excluding lunch and comfort stops. After arrival, enjoy time to settle into the premium lodge before beginning a game drive at approximately 3:30 p.m. Lake Nakuru may reveal rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, baboons and birds. Most observation occurs from the vehicle. Return near sunset for dinner. Request staff assistance when moving through unfenced or poorly illuminated lodge grounds.
Cooler-Hour Wildlife Drive
Leave around 6:30 a.m. for an optional early game drive. Cooler conditions may provide comfortable viewing around woodland margins, open clearings and lake viewpoints. Guests who prefer additional sleep can remain at the lodge when private arrangements allow. Return for breakfast and check out between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m.
Comfortable Mara Transfer
Drive 230–270 km through Mau Narok or another suitable road, taking 5–6½ hours excluding lunch, road conditions and comfort breaks. Some sections may be uneven, and guests with back or joint concerns should seek medical advice before travel. After arrival, settle into the premium accommodation. A short game drive around 4:00 p.m. is included only when guests feel rested and sufficient daylight remains. Dinner follows near 7:30 p.m.
Savannah at a Gentle Pace
After breakfast around 6:00 a.m., depart between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. Explore grasslands and riverine habitats while remaining seated comfortably in the safari vehicle. Possible sightings include elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes and birds. Guests should tell the guide whenever they need a permitted comfort break or a change of seating position.
Picnic or Lodge Lunch
A picnic lunch is normally served between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. at an authorized site. Guests who prefer a lodge lunch may request a split game-drive schedule when location and park-entry conditions make it practical. Continue wildlife viewing during the afternoon without rushing between sightings. Return between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. for dinner, medication routines and a restful second overnight in Maasai Mara.
Optional Mara Morning
A short game drive can begin around 6:30 a.m. when guests feel comfortable and entry arrangements permit. Alternatively, enjoy an unhurried breakfast before departure. Complete check-out between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m., allowing the guide or porter to assist with luggage rather than lifting heavy bags independently.
Restful Naivasha Arrival
Travel 220–250 km through Narok and Mai Mahiu, taking 4½–6 hours excluding lunch, traffic and comfort stops. Arrive at Lake Naivasha during the afternoon and settle into your premium accommodation. Enjoy the grounds only along approved paths and avoid unprotected shorelines because hippos can enter unfenced properties. Guests requiring assistance should request a staff escort after dark. Dinner is generally served around 7:30 p.m., with earlier arrangements available when confirmed.
Carefully Assessed Boat Activity
After breakfast around 6:30 a.m., an optional 60–90-minute boat excursion may be available. Guests should consider balance, boarding steps and seating comfort before participating. Life jackets are compulsory, and the captain’s decision regarding wind and water conditions is final. Remaining at the lodge is always acceptable when the boat activity is unsuitable.
Supported Journey to Amboseli
Travel 330–370 km through Mai Mahiu, Nairobi’s outskirts and Emali, requiring 6–8 hours excluding lunch, traffic and comfort stops. This is the itinerary’s longest transfer, so regular safe breaks will be planned. Arrive during the late afternoon and proceed to your premium accommodation. A same-day game drive is optional and depends on arrival time and guest comfort. Dinner and an early night are recommended.
Cool Morning Exploration
Depart between 6:15 and 6:30 a.m. after an early breakfast arrangement. Clear conditions may reveal Mount Kilimanjaro, but the mountain can remain clouded. Search open plains, woodlands and wetlands for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, predators and birds. The guide will avoid unnecessarily rough tracks where a smoother alternative offers comparable viewing.
Flexible Afternoon Program
Lunch is served between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. at the lodge or an authorized picnic location. Guests may continue the full-day safari or request additional lodge rest when private logistics permit. Wildlife observations remain unpredictable, but Amboseli’s contrasting habitats provide a rewarding final park experience. Return between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. for dinner, relaxation and preparation for the Nairobi transfer.
Unhurried Safari Morning
A short game drive may begin around 6:30 a.m. for guests who want a final wildlife experience. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxed breakfast and quiet lodge morning. Check out between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. Porters and the guide can assist with luggage, but personal medication and travel documents should remain with the guest.
Nairobi Drop-Off
Travel 200–240 km through Emali to Nairobi, requiring 4–5½ hours excluding lunch, traffic and comfort stops. Drop-off is provided at JKIA, Wilson Airport or a confirmed Nairobi hotel. A late-evening international flight or an extra Nairobi night is strongly recommended because road delays can create stressful connections. Wheelchair assistance at the airport must be requested directly through the airline or booking agent before travel.
