We depart from Moshi and drive to Londorossi Gate, where we complete the necessary formalities. After lunch, we start our trek through the pristine rainforest, covering a distance of 6 km over 3-4 hours. Our first camp, Big Tree Camp, is nestled at an elevation of 2,780 m (9,121 ft).

Continuing on the Lemosho Trail, we leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone. Trekking for approximately 5-6 hours and covering 8 km, we ascend to Shira 1 Camp at an altitude of 3,500 m (11,483 ft). The panoramic view of Kibo Peak from the campsite is truly awe-inspiring.

Today, we have two options. We can either trek 14 km to Shira 2 Camp, gaining an elevation of 400 m (1,312 ft), or take the route to Moir Hut, ascending 675 m (2,215 ft). Both options provide opportunities for acclimatization and allow us to explore the stunning moorland habitat.

Our journey takes us across the semi-desert terrain towards Lava Tower, standing at 4,600 m (15,092 ft). After a brief stop, we descend to Barranco Camp at 3,960 m (12,992 ft). This day's trek covers approximately 9 km and can take 7-9 hours from Shira 2 Camp or 4-6 hours from Moir Hut.

Leaving Barranco Camp, we tackle the challenging Barranco Wall before descending into the picturesque Karanga Valley. This 5 km trek takes around 4-5 hours, with an ascent of 375 m (1,230 ft) and a descent of 300 m (984 ft). Karanga Camp, at an altitude of 4,040 m (13,255 ft), awaits us.

We continue our ascent from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp, trekking 605 m (1,985 ft) over a distance of 4 km. The trek takes approximately 4-5 hours and brings us to an elevation of 4,680 m (15,360 ft). Barafu Camp offers breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.

The most challenging day awaits us as we embark on the summit attempt. Starting in the early morning, we ascend to Stella Point at 5,730 m (18,799 ft), where a short rest awaits. Pushing further, we reach the legendary Uhuru Peak, standing at 5,895 m (19,340 ft) ─ the highest point in Africa. After celebrating our achievement, we descend to Mweka Camp, located at 3,080 m (10,105 ft), covering a distance of 17 km.
