Today, you'll walk across the Shira Plateau, which is one of the highest plateaus in the world. You're on your way to Shira II Camp. People on the nine-day route will join you here. The view from the plateau is really great, and you can see a part of Kilimanjaro called the Western Breach. Because the plateau is open, it will be colder, especially at night.

Starting very early, the summit day is tough mentally and physically. You'll climb through glaciers and reach Stella Point, where you'll see a beautiful sunrise. The last part takes you to Uhuru Peak, a huge accomplishment. After celebrating, you'll go down to Mweka Camp through Barafu for lunch. The path can be hard, but your trekking poles and gaiters will help with the loose gravel and volcanic ash.
