Your solo traveller safari begins with direct pickup from your Nairobi hotel, residence or airport between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. After meeting our guide and discussing your interests, preferred pace and safety arrangements, you will begin the approximately 320-kilometre drive to Samburu National Reserve. The journey takes around 5½ to 6½ hours and passes through Thika, the central highlands, Nanyuki, Mount Kenya and Isiolo. Our guide will organise comfort and refreshment stops and remain available to answer your questions throughout the transfer. After arriving at your midrange camp or lodge, you will have lunch, check into your private room and relax before an afternoon game drive lasting approximately 2½ to 3 hours. You may see elephants, Grevy’s zebras, giraffes and dry-country wildlife before returning for dinner.

Day 2: Full-Day Solo Experience in Samburu

Full-Day Solo Experience in Samburu

Following breakfast, you will spend approximately 7 to 9 hours exploring Samburu and may cover between 60 and 120 kilometres. Our guide will search the river, bushland and open plains for elephants, lions, leopards, Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks and Beisa oryx. Private solo guests can request additional time at sightings or an earlier lodge return, while shared safari guests will follow an agreed group schedule. Lunch may be served at a designated picnic location or at the lodge. When safe and practical, your guide can also assist by taking photographs of you during the safari.

.Samburu to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast and check-out, you will travel approximately 275 to 300 kilometres to Lake Nakuru. The journey normally takes 5 to 6½ hours, with planned comfort and refreshment stops. You will pass through the central highlands before descending toward the Rift Valley. After checking into your private room and having lunch, you will join an afternoon game drive lasting approximately 3 hours. Lake Nakuru may provide sightings of rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons and birds. Our guide will explain the park’s history and wildlife-management work while making sure you remain informed and comfortable.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, you will enjoy a morning game drive lasting approximately 2½ to 3 hours before returning for check-out. You will then travel approximately 240 to 260 kilometres to Masai Mara over 5 to 6½ hours. Comfort stops will be arranged as you travel through the Rift Valley and Narok. After reaching your midrange lodge or tented camp, you will check into your private room and enjoy a late lunch. A short evening drive may be included when arrival time permits, giving you your first view of the Mara plains.

Following breakfast, you will spend approximately 8 to 10 hours exploring Masai Mara and cover between 80 and 150 kilometres. Our guide will search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas and large plains-game herds across grasslands, river corridors and woodland. Lunch will be served at a picnic site inside the reserve. A private solo departure allows more flexibility with photography and wildlife interests, while a shared departure provides an opportunity to meet travellers from other countries.

Following an early breakfast, you will travel approximately 320 kilometres to Amboseli in around 6 to 7 hours. Our guide will manage road navigation, traffic and suitable comfort stops so you do not need to arrange any additional transport independently. Lunch will be served en route or at the lodge after arrival. Once you have checked into your private room, you may relax or join a short afternoon game drive lasting about 2 hours.

Full-Day Solo Safari in Amboseli

After breakfast, you will spend approximately 7 to 9 hours exploring Amboseli and may cover between 60 and 120 kilometres. Our guide will visit marshes, open plains and woodland while searching for elephant herds, lions, buffaloes, hippos, zebras and wildebeests. Mount Kilimanjaro may be visible when weather conditions are favourable. A picnic lunch or lodge lunch will be followed by more afternoon wildlife viewing. The programme can be adjusted according to your photography interests or desired level of activity.
