Day 1: Londorossi Gate climbing to Mti Mkubwa
Your Safari begins with an exciting journey to Londorossi Gate, located at 2,100 meters above sea level. After registering with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities, you'll continue to the trailhead starting point, accompanied by breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. Enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on your trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp at 2,820 meters. Keep your eyes peeled for majestic wildlife like elephants and buffalos that might grace your path. After a 3-4 hour trek through the lush rainforest, settle in at Mti Mkubwa Camp and savor a well-deserved dinner.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp climb to Shira Camp 1
On day two, venture further into the low alpine moorland zone as you leave the rainforest behind and ascend towards the Shira Plateau. The trek, covering approximately 8 kilometers in 5-6 hours, treats you to stunning vistas along the way. By the end of the day, you'll arrive at Shira Camp 1, located at 3,610 meters.
Day 3: Shira Camp 1 climb to Shira Camp 2
Embrace the captivating beauty of the Shira Plateau as you trek from Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2, covering about 7 kilometers in 3-4 hours. The rugged terrain presents a magnificent view of the Western Breach of Kilimanjaro. For those on an eight-day hike, the journey continues towards Lava Tower and Moir Camp, offering an alternative yet equally awe-inspiring experience.
Day 4: Climbing from Shira Camp 2 to Moir Camp
Prepare for a longer trek on day four, taking you through the enchanting 'Garden of the Senecios' and into the high alpine desert zone. Ascend to Lava Tower, where you'll enjoy a well-deserved lunch surrounded by the breathtaking landscape at 4,600 meters. Afterward, join the Northern Circuit heading down to Moir Camp, positioned at 4,200 meters. This day's trek offers valuable acclimatization benefits.
Day 5: Moir Camp climb to Buffalo Camp
Day five presents a moderately steep climb out of Moir Valley, with an optional detour to Little Lent Hill at 4,375 meters. Traverse inclines and declines along the northern slopes of Kibo, revealing vast panoramas of the Kenyan/Tanzanian border. The day concludes at Buffalo Camp, where you'll have lunch and rest after a rewarding 5-7 hour hike.
Day 6: Buffalo Camp climb to Rongai Third Cave
Day six takes you up the Buffalo ridge and down into Pofu Camp for lunch before continuing towards Rongai Third Cave at 3,800 meters. The trek is shorter, allowing you to savor the high alpine zone and appreciate your improved acclimatization.
Day 7: Climbing from Rongai Third Cave to School Hut
As you head to the School Hut at 4,800 meters, you'll traverse the Saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi Peak. Rest and enjoy an early dinner at School Hut, as you'll be woken before midnight to commence your summit attempt. Make sure to be well-prepared with warm clothing, snacks, and a camera for this momentous occasion.
Day 8: School Hut climb to Uhuru Peak and Millennium Camp
On this epic day, begin your ascent towards Kibo's slopes in the early hours of the morning. Reach Gilman's Point (5,681 meters) after a 5-6 hour trek, and continue to the highest point of Africa, Uhuru Peak, standing tall at 5,895 meters. Take in the breathtaking sunrise and surrounding glaciers before descending to Stella Point (5,739 meters) and onward to Barafu Camp (4,680 meters). Continue your descent to Millennium Camp, where you'll spend your final night on Kilimanjaro.
Day 9: Millennium Camp descend to Mweka gate to Moshi
On Day 9 of the 9 days Kilimanjaro climbing tour via northern circuit route. we'll trek from Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate and then head to Moshi. The journey will be challenging but rewarding. Once we reach Mweka, we'll be awarded certificates for our accomplishment. The memories of this incredible adventure will stay with us forever.
