Midrange Kenya Road Safari via Samburu, Mara & Amboseli

Travel beyond the major national parks on this 9-day midrange Kenya road safari from Nairobi, a complete overland adventure connecting Samburu National Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli National Park. Travelling by safari vehicle allows you to experience the landscapes, towns and countryside between each destination instead of only seeing Kenya from the air. Your route begins in the semi-arid north, where Samburu’s riverine habitats support rare species and large elephant herds, before continuing through the central highlands to the Great Rift Valley. Masai Mara introduces predator-rich grasslands, Lake Naivasha provides a relaxing freshwater stop, and Amboseli completes the journey with vast elephant country and possible Mount Kilimanjaro views. Our professional driver-guide will manage all transfers, park activities, meal stops and daily timings while you stay in comfortable midrange lodges and tented camps.

Your midrange Kenya road safari from Nairobi begins with collection from your hotel, residence, Wilson Airport or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. After meeting our driver-guide and receiving a briefing about the route, expected road conditions and safari programme, you will begin the approximately 320-kilometre journey to Samburu National Reserve. The transfer normally takes 5½ to 6½ hours, excluding extended meal stops, and passes through Thika, the central highlands, Nanyuki, the Mount Kenya region and Isiolo.
