The 9 day Northern Circuit Route is very popular for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. It is a beautiful trail that different from other routes because it is longer and not too steep. This helps climbers get used to the higher altitude and increases their chances of reaching the top successfully.
We start our climb on the first day through a beautiful forest. We walk on winding paths and see different plants and animals. Using climbing poles and gaiters, we go from 2389m to 2785m. Each step is a success, as we climb 396m.

As the sun rises, our climbing adventure begins. Leaving the rainforest behind, we enter a realm of boundless views. With determined steps, we conquer the Shira Plateau's edge, greeted by expansive landscapes. Our climb elevates us from 2785m to 3504m, marking a significant 719m ascent.

As we climb through the amazing Shira Plateau, we're amazed by its big size and rough beauty. We meet climbers from the Machame Route at Shira 2 Camp, and see the stunning Western Breach of Kilimanjaro above. It gets very cold, but we bravely spend the night at Shira 2 camp

During our climb, getting used to the altitude becomes important as we go up the ridge to Lava Tower, which looks like a shark's tooth. This helps us prepare for what's ahead, and we reach Barranco Camp.

On Day 5, we move from Moir Camp to Buffalo Camp. Our path involves both uphill and downhill stretches as we navigate around the northern slopes of Kibo. The stunning views extend towards the Tanzanian border, offering us moments of awe. We find a peaceful haven at Buffalo Camp.

Day 6 leads us on a less-traveled route from Buffalo Camp. We forge ahead through valleys and ridges, traversing the alpine desert and moorland. Solitude surrounds us as we embrace the untouched wilderness. A 5-7 hour climb tests our mettle, but the serenity and grandeur of the landscape make every step worthwhile.

On Day 7, we ascend steadily to the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi, a moonscape in the mountains. Pushing on, we reach School Hut Campsite, where we gather our strength for the final ascent. With the first light of the next day, we begin our 4-5 hour climb to the summit. Altitude and steep paths challenge us, but our determination to conquer prevails.

On Day 8, we go from School Hut to the Summit and then down to Mweka Camp. This is the toughest part of our journey as we make the last effort to reach the top. Overcoming the rocky slopes and snowy terrain, we're treated to a stunning sunrise and an incredible feeling of success at Uhuru Peak, the highest spot in Africa. As we proudly descend, we reach Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight.

On Day 9of climbing we move from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and then drive to Moshi. With deep thanks to our amazing team, we say goodbye to Kilimanjaro. At Mweka Park Gate, we get our summit certificates. Going to lower areas feels nice, and we remember the special times and friendship we experienced during this remarkable journey.
