Book a 9-day premium Kenya wildlife safari featuring Samburu’s Special Five, Lake Nakuru rhinos, Mara big cats and Amboseli elephants.
Our 9-Day Premium Special Five, Big Cats & Elephant Trail is designed for travellers seeking a concentrated journey through Kenya’s most distinctive wildlife environments. Samburu provides opportunities to search for Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, Beisa oryx and Somali ostriches alongside elephants and predators. Lake Nakuru adds black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes and rich birdlife. The Maasai Mara becomes the central big-cat destination, with possible lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas among large plains-animal populations. Lake Naivasha offers a quieter freshwater experience before Amboseli completes the trail with large elephant herds, wetlands and possible Mount Kilimanjaro views. No animal or behaviour is guaranteed, but the five-destination route provides excellent wildlife diversity.
Journey to Northern Kenya
At approximately 5:30 AM, our driver-guide will collect you from Nairobi and begin the journey north. Breakfast, refreshments and comfort stops will be arranged during the transfer. The landscape gradually becomes drier as you approach the Samburu region.
Premium Lodge and Wildlife Introduction
You will arrive around lunchtime, check into your premium lodge or luxury camp and enjoy lunch. The afternoon allows time to rest after the road journey. A short evening game drive may be completed when arrival time and reserve access permit.
Morning Northern Species Search
At around 6:00 AM, you will begin a private game drive in search of Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, Beisa oryx and Somali ostriches. Elephants, buffaloes, impalas, lions, leopards and cheetahs may also be encountered. All sightings depend on natural movement.
River Corridors and Evening Wildlife
After breakfast, lunch and a midday rest, you will return for an afternoon safari at around 3:30 PM. The guide will explore the Ewaso Nyiro River corridor and surrounding plains. You will return at approximately 6:30 PM for dinner.
Wildlife Landscapes to the Rift Valley
After breakfast and check-out, you will leave Samburu and travel toward Lake Nakuru. The route moves through changing vegetation, highland areas and Great Rift Valley scenery. Lunch and comfort stops will be included.
Premium Nakuru Arrival
You will arrive during the afternoon and check into your premium accommodation. The remaining time provides an opportunity to rest and prepare for the morning safari. Dinner follows before an early overnight rest.
Morning Rhino Search
At approximately 6:00 AM, you will enter Lake Nakuru National Park. Our guide will search for black or white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, possible predators and lakeshore birds. Flamingo numbers vary naturally and cannot be guaranteed.
Transfer to Big-Cat Country
After breakfast and check-out, you will begin the journey toward the Maasai Mara. Lunch or refreshments will be arranged during the transfer. Arrival at your premium lodge or tented camp is expected in the late afternoon.
Sunrise Big-Cat Search

Picnic and Afternoon Plains Wildlife
At approximately 12:30 PM, you will enjoy a packed lunch at an authorised location. The afternoon drive continues through another wildlife zone until around 5:30 PM. You will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Final Mara Wildlife Drive
A short morning safari may be completed before breakfast when the confirmed programme allows. The guide will revisit productive areas and search for predators or herbivores not observed on Day 5. You will then return for breakfast and check-out.

The Booking Form
Book a 9-day premium Kenya wildlife safari featuring Samburu’s Special Five, Lake Nakuru rhinos, Mara big cats and Amboseli elephants.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
1. Will guests see all of Samburu’s Special Five?
The itinerary provides opportunities to search for all five northern species, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. Their locations depend on water, vegetation, weather and natural movement. Some species may be easier to locate than others. The guide will explore suitable habitats without driving irresponsibly. The safari remains rewarding even when the complete group is not observed.
2. Are big-cat sightings guaranteed in the Maasai Mara?
No predator sighting can be guaranteed. Lions may be encountered more frequently than leopards, which are secretive and often use woodland or riverine vegetation. Cheetahs usually favour open landscapes, but they move according to prey and territorial conditions. The guide will search productive areas responsibly. Hunts and kills are unpredictable natural events.
3. Will guests see both black and white rhinos?
Lake Nakuru protects both black and white rhinos, but seeing both types during one morning drive is not guaranteed. Visibility depends on animal location, vegetation and road access. The guide will search suitable habitats and explain identification differences when sightings occur. Guests should avoid treating the experience as a guaranteed checklist. The park also provides giraffes, buffaloes, birds and other wildlife.
4. Why is Lake Naivasha included in a wildlife itinerary?
Lake Naivasha provides a change from vehicle-based savannah game drives. The freshwater environment supports fish eagles, pelicans, herons, kingfishers and other birds. A confirmed boat or Crescent Island activity may also provide different wildlife perspectives. The lakeside stay creates a useful rest point before the long journey to Amboseli. Activities remain subject to safety, access and the final quotation.
5. Is nine days enough for all five destinations?
Nine days provide a strong introduction to the route, although several transfer days are substantial. The itinerary includes complete safari days in Samburu, Maasai Mara and Amboseli. Lake Nakuru receives a focused morning drive, while Lake Naivasha provides a shorter nature experience. Additional nights can be added for a slower pace or deeper wildlife viewing. Travellers should understand the driving requirements before booking.
