Arrival Day: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha
A driver will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and take you to your hotel in Arusha. The drive takes about one hour. This is your time to rest and prepare for the 9-day Serengeti Migration safari. You will have a brief meeting with your guide to go over the plans for reaching the Mara River.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Manyara/Karatu
Drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a trip of 120 kilometers taking 2 to 3 hours. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. You will spend the day watching animals gather at the Tarangire River. A positive moment is seeing elephants dig for water in dry riverbeds using their trunks. Later, you will drive to Karatu for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Manyara/Karatu – Serengeti (Half-Day Game Drive)
Travel to the Serengeti, covering 240 kilometers in about 6 hours. You will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop at the crater viewpoint. Once in the Serengeti, you will start your first game drive on the way to your camp. You might see lions resting on rocky outcrops known as kopjes.

Day 3: Central – Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
You will head north toward the Kogatende area, a drive of 140 kilometers taking 5 hours. This route follows the direction of the herds moving toward the river. You will look for cheetahs and leopards in the hilly northern landscape. A pleasant surprise is often spotting a serval cat hiding in the tall grass during the late afternoon.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti (Full Day migration river crossing)
Spend the entire day near the Mara River. This is the heart of your 9-day Serengeti Migration safari Mara River Crossing experience. You will wait patiently for the herds to gather at the water's edge. Watching thousands of wildebeest jump into the crocodile-infested water is a powerful sight. You will have a picnic lunch while keeping an eye on the riverbanks.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti (Full Day migration river crossing)
Another day is dedicated to the river crossings. Since the migration is unpredictable, a second day increases your chances of seeing multiple crossings. You will also look for predators like lions and leopards that stay near the river to hunt. A positive moment is seeing a young wildebeest successfully reach the other bank after a narrow escape from a crocodile.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour) – to Central Serengeti
After a morning drive in the north, you begin the 5-hour return journey to the Central Serengeti. You will visit different waterholes where hippos are active. This transition allows you to see the resident wildlife of the central plains once more. You might encounter a large group of giraffes crossing the road. You will arrive at your central camp by evening.

Day 7: Central Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
Explore the Seronera Valley for a full day. This area is known for its high density of big cats. You will track leopards and lions and watch their interactions. A very cool moment is seeing a pride of lions socialising on a large rock in the early morning light. The open plains here provide excellent visibility for everyone in the car.

Day 8: Serengeti (Morning Game Drive) to Ngorongoro
Enjoy a final morning drive in the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Highlands. The drive takes about 4 hours. You will pass through Maasai lands where you can see traditional life. Reaching the crater rim, the air cools and the forest becomes lush. A highlight is the first view into the crater floor from the viewpoint.
