Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred to Arusha. This one hour drive is your introduction to the bustling city near the mountains. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel, preparing for your 9-day July safari. Your guide will meet you for a briefing about the route and the incredible river crossings you expect to see.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Manyara/Karatu
Drive 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 3 hours. In July, Tarangire is a haven for elephants as they gather around the river. You will spend the day watching huge herds drink and socialise. A positive surprise often involves seeing a leopard resting in a baobab tree near the river. You will head to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Manyara/Karatu to Serengeti (Half-Day Game Drive)
Travel toward the Serengeti, a 240 kilometer trip taking about 6 hours. You will stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint for photos before entering the Serengeti plains. The 9-day July safari in Serengeti Migration highlights the golden savannah filled with wildlife. You might see lions resting on the rocky kopjes, scanning for prey. Reaching the crater rim, the air cools and the forest becomes lush. A highlight is the first view into the crater floor, which looks like a paradise from the viewpoint.
