Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred to Arusha. This one hour drive introduces you to the vibrant city near the mountains. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel, preparing for your 9-day June safari. Your guide will meet you for a briefing about the route and the special wildlife events that happen during this transition into the dry season.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Manyara/Karatu
Drive 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 3 hours. In June, Tarangire is drying out, drawing many animals to the river. You will spend the day watching elephant herds and zebras gather at the water. A positive surprise often involves seeing a leopard resting in a baobab tree. You will head to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Manyara/Karatu to Serengeti (Half-Day Game Drive)
Travel toward the Serengeti, a 240 kilometer trip taking about 6 hours. You will stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint for photos before entering the Serengeti plains. The 9-day June safari in Serengeti Migration highlights the golden savannah filled with moving herds. You might see lions resting on the rocky kopjes, watching the wildebeest pass by. You will reach your central camp by sunset.

Day 3: Central to Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
Head north toward the Mara River area, a drive of 140 kilometers taking 5 hours. In June, the migration is moving through the central and western parts of the park toward the north. You will look for cheetahs and giraffes in the hilly northern landscape. A pleasant surprise is often spotting a serval cat hiding in the tall grass. You will reach your northern camp by late afternoon.

You will arrive at your central camp in time for dinner.

Day 8: Serengeti (Morning Game Drive) to Ngorongoro
Enjoy a final morning drive in the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Highlands. The drive takes about 4 hours. You will pass through Maasai lands where you can see traditional life. Reaching the crater rim, the air cools and the forest becomes lush. A highlight is the first view into the crater floor from the viewpoint, which looks like a paradise.
