Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred to Arusha. This one hour drive introduces you to the vibrant city near the mountains. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel, preparing for your 9-day March safari. Your guide will meet you for a briefing about the route and the special wildlife events that happen during this green time of year.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Manyara/Karatu
Drive 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 3 hours. In March, Tarangire is lush and full of life as the short rains continue. You will spend the day watching elephant herds and zebras gather at the marshes. A positive surprise often involves seeing many baby elephants that have been born recently. You will head to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Manyara/Karatu to Serengeti (Half-Day Game Drive)
Travel toward the Serengeti, a 240 kilometer trip taking about 6 hours. You will stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint for photos of the green crater floor before entering the Serengeti. The 9-day March safari in Serengeti Migration highlights the emerald savannah filled with moving herds. You might see lions resting on the rocky kopjes, watching the wildebeest pass by. You will reach your central camp by sunset.

Day 3: Central to Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
Head north toward the Mara River area, a drive of 140 kilometers taking 5 hours. In March, the migration is often in the central and southern plains, but the north remains a beautiful and quiet area with many resident animals. You will look for cheetahs and giraffes in the hilly northern landscape. A pleasant surprise is often spotting a serval cat hiding in the tall grass. You will reach your northern camp by late afternoon.

You will arrive at your central camp in time for dinner.
