Arrival Day: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred to Arusha. This one hour drive introduces you to the city near the mountains. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel, preparing for your 9-day November safari in Serengeti Migration. Your guide will meet you for a briefing about the route and the special wildlife events that happen as the short rains begin.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Manyara/Karatu
Drive 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 3 hours. In November, Tarangire begins to green up, and many elephants are seen near the marshes. You will spend the day watching huge herds drink and socialise. A positive surprise often involves seeing many migratory birds that have arrived from the north. You will head to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Manyara/Karatu to Serengeti (Half-Day Game Drive)
Travel toward the Serengeti, a 240 kilometer trip taking about 6 hours. You will stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint to see the crater floor before entering the Serengeti plains. The 9-day November safari highlights the returning migration herds. You might see lions resting on the rocky kopjes, watching the wildebeest move south. You will reach your central camp by sunset.

Day 3: Central to Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
Head north toward the Mara River area, a drive of 140 kilometers taking 5 hours. In November, some of the migration is still in the north, while others are heading south. You will look for cheetahs and leopards in the hilly northern landscape. A pleasant surprise is often spotting a serval cat hiding in the fresh grass. You will reach your northern camp by late afternoon.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour) to Central Serengeti
Drive back to the Central Serengeti, a 5 hour journey through the heart of the park. You will visit different waterholes where hippos are active. This transition allows you to see the resident wildlife of the central plains once more. You might encounter a large group of elephants crossing the road. You will arrive at your central camp in time for a warm dinner and storytelling.
