Arrival Day: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred to Arusha. This one hour drive is your first look at the city near the mountains. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel, preparing for your 9-day October safari in Serengeti Migration. Your guide will meet you for a briefing about the route and the incredible river crossings you expect to see.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Manyara/Karatu
Drive 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 3 hours. In October, Tarangire is very dry, and elephants gather in massive numbers at the river. You will spend the day watching huge herds drink and socialise. A positive surprise often involves seeing predators like lions and leopards waiting for prey near the waterholes. You will head to Karatu for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Manyara/Karatu to Serengeti (Half-Day Game Drive)
Travel toward the Serengeti, a 240 kilometer trip taking about 6 hours. You will stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint for photos before entering the Serengeti plains. The 9-day October safari highlights the golden savannah filled with wildlife. You might see lions resting on the rocky kopjes, scanning for prey across the dry grass. You will reach your central camp by sunset.

Day 3: Central to Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
Head north toward the Mara River, a 140 kilometer drive taking 5 hours. In October, the migration is still concentrated in the northern panhandle, making it the best area for wildlife action. You will arrive at your central camp in time for a warm dinner and storytelling.

Reaching the crater rim, the air cools and the forest becomes lush and green. A highlight is the first view into the crater floor, which looks like a paradise from the viewpoint.
