As we depart from Moshi and arrive at Londorossi Gate, the excitement builds. After completing entry formalities, we make our way to the Lemosho trailhead. The most challenging part of the journey awaits as we begin our ascent to Uhuru Peak around midnight. Battling the extreme wind and cold, we make our way to Gilman's Point (18,600 ft) to witness a magnificent sunrise over Mawenzi Peak. Finally, we stand atop Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa! Our descent leads us to Mweka Hut campsite, where we rest and enjoy a well-deserved dinner.
