The 10-day Northern Circuit route Kilimanjaro climbing expedition is a thrilling and awe-inspiring journey to conquer the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. This lesser-known route offers a unique and less crowded experience compared to other trails, allowing climbers to immerse themselves in the untouched wilderness and stunning landscapes.
Your journey begins on Day 1 as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and are warmly welcomed by the team. You will be transferred to the Hotel in Moshi, located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. This hotel serves as the perfect base to prepare you for the upcoming climb.
On Day 2, after a hearty breakfast, the adventure truly begins as you are driven to the Lemosho gate on the western side of Kilimanjaro. The climb takes you through the enchanting Lemosho glades and lush forests to reach Big Tree Camp, where you'll spend the night.
Continuing on Day 3, you leave the rainforest behind and ascend to the savannah, with its tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rocks adorned with lichen. As you walk through the rolling hills and cross streams, you catch your first glimpse of Kibo, the summit of Kilimanjaro, as you arrive at Shira One Camp.
On Day 4, you venture towards Shira Two Camp, exploring the captivating Shira Plateau. The heath zone welcomes you with an array of wildflowers and distinctive Senecio trees, making this a picturesque climb.
The following day, Day 5, you continue your journey to Moir Hut, a less frequented site on the base of Lent Hills. This presents a great opportunity for acclimatization, and the surrounding landscape is simply breathtaking.
Offers a unique route as you head up Buffalo Ridge, experiencing the mountain wilderness feel and Climb through remote valleys until you reach Third Cave, your camp for the night.
Involves a steady climb up and over the "Saddle" between Kibo and Mawenzi, leading you to School Hut. Resting here and enjoying an early dinner will prepare you for the summit day.
Is the big day, where you start your ascent to Uhuru Peak from School Hut. This is the most challenging part of the climb, but the reward is immeasurable. Witnessing the sunrise from Gilman's Point and finally reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, is an extraordinary accomplishment. After taking in the awe-inspiring views, you descend to Mweka Camp, where you spend the night.
On Day 9, your descent continues as you make your way to Mweka Gate, collecting your well-earned summit certificates. As you descend, you pass through various habitats, including the lush rainforest, before reaching Mweka Village. From there, a vehicle will take you back to Hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Marks the end of this incredible journey. After saying farewell to your guides and the team, a private transfer will take you from Moshi to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight. Alternatively, you may have the option to extend your trip with a short safari or other exciting activities.
