Day 5 : Horombo Hut to Marangu Park Gate, Transfer to Moshi

Day 1: First hike from Marangu Park Gate to Mandara Hut

After breakfast drives for one hour to Marangu Park gate. Check-in and begin walking to Mandara hut. Enjoy the beautiful rainforest scenery and encounter monkeys and birds along the way. Stop for a picnic lunch and continue walking to Mandara hut, which takes about 4 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Mandara hut (2,720m).

Day 2: Continue hike from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

After breakfast starts walking to Horombo hut. Experience the heather and moorland zone and admire the stunning views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. The trail is gradual, offering scenic views of the forest and nearby villages. The walk to Horombo hut takes approximately 5-6 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Horombo hut (3,720m).

Day 3: Horombo Hut hike up to Kibo Hut

After breakfast, continue your journey to Kibo hut. Walk through the alpine desert and saddle area, experiencing a bit of chill in the air. The walk to Kibo hut takes about 4-5 hours. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the saddle area before slowly making your way to the hut. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibo hut (4,720m).

Day 4: Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, Descend to Horombo Hut

At midnight, after a refreshing tea and cookies, start the hike to the summit. Walk with your guides while porters and chef remain at Kibo hut. Take a slow ascent to Gilman's point (5,685m) which takes 5-6 hours. Take a short rest at Gilman's point before continuing along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point. Spend some time taking pictures before descending to Kibo hut, which takes about 3 hours. After breakfast, continue the descent to Horombo hut for another 3 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Horombo hut (3,720m).

Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu Park Gate, Transfer to Moshi

After breakfast, starts the descent to Marangu Park gate, which takes approximately 5-6 hours. Enjoy a hot lunch at the gate. Say goodbye to the porters who won't be joining you in Moshi. Meet the van and transfer to Moshi town, where you will stay overnight at Stella Maris Lodge.
