Around midnight, you will begin the most challenging and rewarding part of the climb: the summit trek to Uhuru Peak. Our guide will lead you slowly through the dark, cold, and rocky trail toward Stella Point and then onward to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. This is the most powerful photography moment of the entire tour, especially as the sun rises over the clouds and lights up the glaciers, crater rim, and vast mountain landscape. Our guide will support you with pacing, motivation, and safety while helping you make the most of this unforgettable summit experience. After celebrating and taking photos at Uhuru Peak, you will descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp. The descent is long but beautiful, with changing scenery from the arctic summit zone back toward lower vegetation areas.
