The 4-kilometer journey spans approximately 3 to 4 hours, and we find ourselves traversing the striking Alpine Desert once more. Arriving at Barafu Camp, we rest, indulge in a nourishing dinner, and prepare ourselves for the most exhilarating part of the expedition – the summit day.     Start early (midnight to 2 am) heading northwest to the summit between Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. Ascend through scree to Stella Point on the crater rim. It's mentally and physically challenging. Take a short rest at Stella Point and witness a magnificent sunrise. Faster climbers may see the sunrise from the summit. Continue for about an hour through snow to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and Africa! Descend straight to Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch. Use gaiters and climbing poles for loose gravel. Enjoy the last evening on the mountain at Mweka Camp.     After breakfast, continue the descent to Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. Lower elevations may be wet and muddy. Gaiters and climbing poles are helpful. Dress comfortably, and a vehicle will take you to Moshi hotel from Mweka gate (about 30 minutes).
