Summit night begins around midnight as you start the most challenging and rewarding part of the climb. Our guide will lead you slowly from School Hut toward the crater rim, helping you manage the cold, altitude, and darkness with steady encouragement. As the sun rises near the summit zone, you will experience one of the most powerful photography moments on Kilimanjaro, with golden light, glaciers, volcanic landscapes, and wide views above the clouds. After reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895m, the highest point in Africa, you will have time for summit photos before beginning the long descent. Depending on pace, safety, and mountain conditions, you will continue down to Millennium Camp or Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.
